First Weekend of Summer

It's no secret that Dan and I have been extra stressed the past few weeks, dealing with little things here and there.  There's just a lot going on in our lives right now and sometimes we feel like it's difficult to "catch up."  And most of our weekends have been filled with just that--trying to catch up.  However, talking to a fellow mama last week and after learning her story, really put things back into perspective.  We decided that it was time we stop stressing over the little things and give thanks for all the wonderful blessings in our lives.  So we left our house a little messy, we forgot about our broken washer and left piles of laundry undone to enjoy the first weekend of summer together as a family.

To celebrate the first day of summer we headed up to my in-laws for an afternoon on the lake.  Emilia loves to swim, so we set up a little blow up pool on the dock and played in the shade of the late afternoon.  It was perfect.  And on Sunday we decided we would go to one of my favorite places in the whole world, Lake Tahoe, to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  Seven years together.  Two years married.  Six months as parents to quite literally the most amazing child on the planet.  So happy I get to do it all with you.
